Deine Aufgaben
- Produce high-quality illustrations, infographics, and visual assets for medical education materials across print, web, e-learning, and events
- Work from established templates and the AO illustration style guide; create new templates when needed
- Translate complex surgical procedures and medical concepts into clear, visually compelling images
- Prepare and optimize visual assets for publishing in different formats, such as responsive web, LMS, presentations, and print
- Create motion graphics, short animations, or interactive visual elements for digital education
- Manage and organize visual assets in the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system for easy access and use across platforms
- Take part in content development workshops with surgeons, including occasional international travel
- Work closely with medical editors, instructional designers, project managers, and subject matter experts to ensure visual accuracy and learning effectiveness
- Research anatomy, procedures, and clinical context to produce accurate visual work
- Contribute to creative visual content production beyond medical illustration
- Apply and help improve the AO illustration style guide to ensure visual consistency and quality control
- Prepare illustrations for production workflows, including color management and transparency
- Maintain and update the internal image database and digital asset management system
Was du mitbringst
- Degree in graphic design, scientific/medical illustration, biomedical visualization, visual communication, or a related field
- 2-3 years of professional experience in visual content production, graphic design, or scientific illustration
- Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, memorable visuals
- Experience working with brand/style guides and template systems
- Fluent in English (written and verbal); German language skills are a plus
- Independent, structured, and organized work style with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Comfortable using AI-assisted creative tools (such as Adobe Firefly and generative tools)
- Motion graphics or animation skills (After Effects or similar) are highly valued
- Experience with 3D modeling, rendering, or visualization is a plus
- Basic video editing or asset preparation for video production workflows is a plus
- Understanding of responsive and multi-format design principles
- Data visualization skills beyond standard charting
- Familiarity with instructional design principles
- Experience with digital asset management systems (e.g., Bynder) is a nice-to-have
- Experience with content management systems (e.g., Sitecore) is a nice-to-have
- UX/UI design sensibility is a plus
- Medical or scientific subject matter background is a plus
